Herpers, Kate K found a single Blue-spotted Salamander on North Street in New Haven around 20:30 last night and Kiley B and I found 24 Blue-spotted Group Salamanders and one Wood Frog crossing Morgan Road here in Salisbury at about the same time. Kiley and I only made one pass over and back through the crossing area, so clearly hundreds of Blue-spotteds crossed last night on Morgan Road. The fact that Kate found only 1 salamander on North Street suggests there really was not much movement anywhere in Vermont other than at Morgan Road, at least early in the evening. Morgan Road is traditionally the first site in Vermont to see amphibian movement.

Kiley did turn up both Blue-spotted Salamanders and Four-toed Salamanders during an active search in Cornwall earlier in the day.

Currently, I don’t see any forecast for NTRS weather in the next 10 days.

I have attached one photo that Kiley took at Morgan Road last night.
